BRIGHTON TRIO OUT OF ARSENAL GAME

Brighton and Hove Albion players Danny Welbeck, Davy Propper and Joel Veltman have all been ruled out of the Arsenal game on Sunday with respective injuries. The Seagulls travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on the Gunners on the final day of the current Premier League season and the three abovementioned players won’t be part of the Brighton squad for the game.

England international Welbeck has been one of the best players for Brighton in recent months and his absence would be a big blow to the team ahead of the Arsenal game. The England striker won’t be able to play against his former club due to a hamstring problem sustained in the last league game at home to Premier League champions Manchester City.

Welbeck has scored six goals in the Premier League this season and only French attacker Neal Maupay has more for the Seagulls this season. He was instrumental in the last game as Brighton beat Manchester City for the first time in the Premier League era to welcome their fans back to the Amex Stadium.

England international Welbeck was brought down outside the Manchester City box by Joao Cancelo when through on goal and that led to the early dismissal for the Manchester City defender. Cancelo was given a red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity as the last man with his team leading by a lone goal thanks to the second minute strike from German international Ilkay Gundogan.

The goal from Gundogan gave 10-man City a slender lead at the interval before another England international, Phil Foden added a second goal for the Champions at the start of the second half. Brighton then showed character to fight back and win the game 3-2 with three goals from Leandro Trossard, Adam Webster and Dan Burn. The Seagulls were able to seal their final home game of the season with a win.
